The Bitcoin House Sri Lanka Launch and Bitcoin BBQ marked an important moment for the local Bitcoin community. Hosted by Bitcoin Sri Lanka and powered by Bitnomi, Sri Lanka’s first self-custodial Bitcoin gateway, the event celebrated the opening of Bitcoin House, a dedicated space for Bitcoin education, meetups, and community collaboration.

A special highlight of the event was a guest speaker, Hitesh Matlani from India who is currently writing a book about his Bitcoin journey while traveling across more than 40 countries. The book documents his experiences meeting Bitcoin communities around the world, including his visit to Sri Lanka and the growing Bitcoin ecosystem here.

As a unique moment for attendees, he read a chapter from his upcoming book exclusively for the event, sharing insights from his travels and his perspective on how local Bitcoin communities are emerging globally.

The launch of Bitcoin House Sri Lanka represents a major step for the community. It will serve as a physical hub where people can learn about Bitcoin, attend meetups and workshops, and connect with others who share an interest in building the future of open, decentralized money.
