Bitcoin Sri Lanka was built for those people.
How This Started
Bitcoin Sri Lanka began with a domain, a Telegram community, and a shared belief that Sri Lanka needed better Bitcoin education.
Stephan Livera had an unused domain called BitcoinSriLanka.org. At the same time, there was a Telegram channel called Bitcoin Sri Lanka where people could gather, ask questions, and learn.
When Sajith Caldera returned to Sri Lanka from the United Kingdom, he saw the need for a serious local Bitcoin movement. Through a mutual friend, he got in contact with Stephan. That conversation helped bring the pieces together.
The idea was not to build another trading group, but to build a Bitcoin-only movement in Sri Lanka.
Why 2022 Changed Everything
The financial collapse in 2022 changed how many Sri Lankans thought about money. People saw how quickly a currency can lose strength. They saw how fragile daily life can become when fuel, food, medicine, and savings are all affected at the same time.
Bitcoin did not give us an easy answer. It gave us a better question.
What if money could not be printed whenever leaders wanted more of it?
Bitcoin Sri Lanka focuses only on Bitcoin. That matters because many beginners are first introduced to "crypto" through fast profits, risky coins, online gambling, and short-term trading. We want to remove that noise. Bitcoin is different because it is simple in its purpose.

It is money with a fixed supply. No company, government, or founder can create more than 21 million bitcoin.

This does not mean Bitcoin is easy to understand on day one. It means it is worth learning properly.
Our Way Of Thinking
We believe Bitcoin education should be calm, honest, and long term.
We do not tell people to rush in. We do not promise quick money. We do not teach people to gamble with their savings.
Instead, we help people understand what Bitcoin is, why it exists, and how to use it safely.
Our thinking is influenced by Austrian economics. This is a way of understanding money, savings, incentives, and human action. In simple terms, it asks people to think about the long-term effects of money and policy, not only the short-term result.
That mindset is important for Sri Lanka.
We do not need more hype. We need better education, better habits, and a better understanding of money.

We also care about policy. Bitcoin can help people think differently about savings, property, energy, remittances, and financial freedom. These ideas need serious public discussion, not fear and confusion.
What We Hope For
We hope Sri Lanka can break the pattern of repeating the same monetary mistakes.
We hope more people learn how money works before the next crisis arrives.
We hope young Sri Lankans can build with more confidence, save with more discipline, and think with a longer time frame.
Most of all, we hope Bitcoin gives people a reason to look at tomorrow with more strength.
Satoshi's gift was not only a new form of money. It was an invitation to think differently.
